Edward Temples, son of the late Charlie and Mary McClard Temples, was born in Stoddard County on Aug. 25, 1916, and died at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at the age of 91.
Mr. Temples had spent 45 years in Pontiac, Mich., where he worked as the head serviceman for the Sears Company. He moved back to Dexter in 1981 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter. He and his wife moved to Cape Girardeau two years ago.
On Oct. 2, 1937, he was married to Geraldine “Jerri Ann” Webb in Bloomfield.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine “Jerri Ann” Temples of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Addie Thieke of Kokomo, Ind., Charlene Middleton and Evelyn Hunt, both of Dexter; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Hunter of Dexter, Shirley Burt of Laguna Woods, Calif.; two brothers-in-law, Fred Burt of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Larry Webb of California.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Corlies, Julia Ivester, Naomi Miller, and Gladys Spore; and three brothers, Sam Temples, Tom Temples and Fred Temples.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at the Dexter Cemetery with Dr. Curtis Porter, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
