Myrtle Glendle Anthony

Myrtle Glendle Anthony, daughter of the late Frank Crain and Grace Crump Crain, was born on April 22, 1915, at Powe and died at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 at the age of 92.

Mrs. Anthony was a homemaker and a resident of rural Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Rex Leon Anthony at Dexter on Jan. 21, 1936. Mr. Anthony preceded his wife in death on Nov. 1, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Ray Anthony and Jimmie Wayne Anthony both of Dexter; one daughter, Ruth Burner of Bernie; two sisters, Evelyn Allen and Mary Lou Barks both of Greenville; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by two sons, Rex Anthony Jr. and Harold Gene Anthony; one brother, Bud Crain; three sisters, Mattie Sandusky, Pernie Ogelvie and Virginia Wilhite; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery
