Warren Thomas Barker, son of the late Charles and Mary Barker, was born on Jan. 15, 1926, at Hahn and died in the Cornerstone Hospital-Clear Lake, at Webster, Texas, on Nov. 1, 2007, at the age of 81.
Mr. Barker was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ, he was a simple, loving and giving person who did many things for many people, and he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and the many friends he made over the years. He was a former resident of Dexter, currently residing in Alvin, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Barker of their residence in Alvin, Texas; two daughters, Sandra Barker of Houston, Texas, and Ruthie James of Friendswood, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Leta Barker of Warren, Mich.; one sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Fred Kibler of Berkley, Mich.; three grandchildren, Amanda Barker, Jason Penn and Amy Searcy; and by two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Barker and Thomas Beard.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 3:30 -5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007.
Funeral Services will be held in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. with Dale Grissom officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
