Sharon Kay Carter Gum was born Sept. 24, 1951, at Holcomb and died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was the daughter of the late Herschel Thompson and Violet Brewer Thompson.

Survivors include one son, Lance Carter of Kennett; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Vera Poyner of East Prairie and Ann Brown of Dixon; eight brothers, Charles Thompson of Clarkton, Dexter Thompson of Risco, Bobby Thompson of St. Louis, James Thompson of Waynesboro, Tenn., Jimmy Thompson of Dexter, Larry Thompson of Troy, Drew Thompson of Florence, Ala., and Charles Ray Thompson of Caldwell.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy Thompson and Jerry Thompson; and one sister, Leta Joyce Thompson.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with Rev. Jack Allen and Rev. Mark Powell officiating.

Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Malden.
