Dorothy Deevers, 83, of McKenzie, Tenn. was born to the late W.L. Bess and Dora Napler Bess on May 15, 1924 in Rock Port, Tenn. and died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at the Henry County Medical Center at Paris, Tenn.
Mrs. Deevers was married to Harold F. Deevers on August 29, 1946, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1994.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, retired from Emerson Electric Co., formed the Red Hat Society in Paris, Tenn. and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two daughters; Linda (Steve) Groover of Parker, Col. and Barbara Coggins of Orlando, Fla., one brother; Jack Bess of Cape Girardeau, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one niece.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Paris, Tenn. with Dr. Joseph A. Geary officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, Tenn. with Ridgeway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
