The motion was taken up Wednesday by Judge Stephen Sharp and has been sent to the Missouri Supreme Court to assign a special judge. That judge will then come to Stoddard County and hear the motion for change of venue.
Pickering, 28 of South Fulton, Tenn., was arrested in connection with an. Oct. 21 early morning raid on a residence in rural Stoddard County.
He faces two charges of the class d felony of dog fighting. The charges are punishable by up to 5 years in prison for each charge.
Two of the dog's seized in the raid have been attributed to Pickering as a result of an interview with the owner of the property, Jamie D. Sifford of Dudley who has also been charged.
Pickering's attorney Steve Walsh said last week that he felt the case against his client was very thin and maintained Pickering's innocence.
Authorities found a video tape that claim shows Pickering, and one of the dogs seized, fighting at his residence in Tenn.
Law enforcement officials in Tenn. Have said that Pickering will face separate charges at home in relation to evidence found at his residence. A grand jury will convene in January when that decision will be made.
Pickering remains in Stoddard County Jail for a bond of $50,000.
Sifford's bond is set at $125,000 and he also remains in jail. Jessey Short, 30 of Cape Girardeau, posted a $125,000 bond on Nov. 2.
Short and Sifford will return to the courtroom on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

I will answer the question for you. No, jamie does not have a bond or he would be at home for the birth of his baby on dec. the nineteenth....
"Out of pocket" is a quaint phrase.
Corey,
another well known case that you used to follow is the Jason Merrill case. His attorney, also Walsh, filed a motion for change of venue and it was granted. Mr. Walsh is very busy working for the criminals of the state. He just recently filed another motion on behalf of his client, Mr. Merrill, and it will also be heard on Dec. 10. It will be in Jackson.
Corey-Can you tell me if it is a mistake or does Jamie Sifford really have a bond set? Also, has his court date been changed from Dec. 19 to Dec. 10? Thanks
About the bond issue, the original warrant called for $125,000 bond. Probation violations are another story, though. Typically, it's been my experience that there is no bond with those cases. This could be different, though. I'm not sure. There's a big event in Poplar Bluff this afternoon and the people I would ask are out of pocket. I'll keep checking.
