Martha M. Ragsdale

Martha M. Ragsdale, daughter of the late Archie and Lucinda Gibbs McDowell, was born near Marmaduke, Ark., on Jan. 18, 1917, and died at the Golden Living Center in Malden on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Ragsdale had lived in Arkansas before moving to Southeast Missouri in 1949. She had lived in the Bernie and Dexter areas since then. She had worked in processing with the Swift and Hudson Poultry Plant in Dexter. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was married to Neebert R. Ragsdale, and he preceded her in death in 1950.

Surviving are one daughter, Grace Ragsdale of Dexter; one son, Raymond W. Ragsdale; one granddaughter; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gladys Irene Hill; one son, Mark Ragsdale; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Private graveside services will be conducted at the Ramer Chapel Cemetery near Marmaduke, Ark., on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007.

Interment will follow in the Ramer Chapel Cemetery near Marmaduke, Ark., with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
