Erin Lynn Powell, daughter of Trent Shipman and Cathy Edmonds Shipman, was born at Dexter on Sept. 30, 1983, and died as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on Nov. 3, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 24.

Mrs. Powell was a resident of Puxico but had spent most of her life in the Bloomfield community. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. On Feb. 25, 2005, she was married to Eric Powell.

Survivors include her husband, Eric Powell of the home in Puxico; one son, Waylon Powell of the home in Puxico; one step-daughter, Natalie Powell of Bloomfield; her father and step-mother, Trent and Tammie Shipman of Bloomfield; her mother Cathy Edmonds Shipman of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Trent Lee Shipman of Keller, Texas, and Jared Frazier of Dexter; one sister, Misty Edmonds of Cape Girardeau; her paternal grandmother, Pat Elmore of Bloomfield.

Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Susan Hoyle officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hills Cemetery near Bloomfield.
