Gale Taylor

Gale Taylor, son of the late Warren and Violet Cook Taylor, was born in Piedmont on Nov. 29, 1941, and died at his home in Wappapello on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at the age of 66.

Mr. Taylor had worked in Fenton at the Chrysler Motors plant and had lived there for 20 years. He moved to Wappapello 17 years ago. He was a member of the Faith Apostolic Church, and he enjoyed woodworking and reading westerns.

On May 12, 1962, he was married to Betty Tanner in St. Louis.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Taylor of Wappapello; three sons, Gale Taylor, Jr. of Hematite, Terry Taylor of Bonne Terre, and Michael Taylor of Wappapello; one daughter, Amy Holmes of Wappapello; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Taylor of Benton; two sisters, Jennie Helfer and Martha Broten, both of Enola, Ark.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Taylor, Jr. and Dale Lambeth.

Visitation was held after 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Dale Holman of Sturdivant officiating.

Interment followed in the Little Brushy Cemetery in Wappapello with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
