Mrs. Tibbs had lived in Dexter all her life. She and her husband had worked and owned several restaurants through the years, including Cubs, The Bootheel, and the Hickory House Restaurant. She had attended the Assembly of God Church in Dexter.
On Nov. 9, 1968, she was married to Leo Tibbs in Dexter.
Surviving are her husband, Leo Tibbs of Dexter; two step-daughters, Sharon Goodman and Elaine Hurley, both of Dexter; one step-son, Joe Tibbs of Poplar Bluff; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Geraldine Warren and Patty Stanford, both of Dexter; three brothers, James Leathers, of Elsberry, Ira "Connie" Leathers and Danny Leathers, both of Dexter.
She was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Donna Sue Tibbs; and two brothers, Bill and Joe Leathers.
Visitation was held after 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
