Mrs. Wheeler was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter where she sang in the choir, was a member of the women's Extension Club and a resident of Dexter.
On April 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to John "Bill" Wheeler in St. Louis. Mr. Wheeler survives of their home in Dexter.
Besides her husband she is survived by one son, John William Wheeler and wife Eloise of Yakima, Wash.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Wayne Klobe of Ferguson, Jo Ann and Glenn Balven of Wright City, Robin Wheeler of West Plains, Dorothea and Steven Schmidt of Lake St. Louis, and Tracy and Doyle Burke of Poplar Bluff; by 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Wallen; and two sisters, Patty Rome and Hazel Zelenka.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Adam Mueller officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sadler's Chapel Cemetery.
The family requests that all donations be made to the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter or a charity of your choice in Anita's name.
