Douglas D. Fann, son of the late Marion Arthur and Lula Mitchell Fann, was born in Puxico on Feb. 24, 1926, and died at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at the age of 81.

Mr. Fann had lived in San Francisco, Calif., and 25 years in Beaverton, Ore., and moved to Puxico in 1988. He was retired from CSX Corporation and was a member of the Puxico United Methodist Church in Puxico.

On Feb. 24, 1949, he was married to Virginia Crawford in Memphis, Tenn. She preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 1995.

Surviving are one daughter, Deana Smith of Puxico; and one grandson.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date with Rev. Norman Ogles of Puxico officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
