Delores Jean Gossett

Delores J. Gossett, daughter of the late Otis Johnson and Clara Kirk Johnson, was born on Feb. 20, 1934, in Crow, W. Va., and died at her residence in Dexter on Dec. 29, 2007, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Gossett was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, Order of the Eastern Star, Missouri Southern Healthcare Auxiliary, and a resident of Dexter.

On Jan. 1, 1954, she was united in marriage to Jerry Gossett in Dearborn, Mich. Mr. Gossett survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, other survivors include four daughters, Judy K. McDonald of Crystal River, Fla., Teresa Larocque of High Ridge, Diane Mitchell of Summerville, S.C., and Barbara Judge of Dexter; one brother, Dillard Johnson of Crow, W. Va.; three sisters, Dana Richmond of Crow, W. Va., Evelyn Lucas of Beaver, W. Va., and Marlyn Roberts of Hazel Park, Mich.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Johnson; two sisters, Freda Hensley and Lorretta Fasemier; and two grandsons.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008.

Funeral services were then conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kevin Murray officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark., at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Murray officiating.
