Joyce Eskew, daughter of the late Cecil Waggoner and Edith Perry Waggoner, was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Stoddard County and died at the Gideon Care Center on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at the age of 77.

Mrs. Eskew was a former employee of Purolator Products in Dexter, member of the Essex Church of Christ in Essex, and a resident of Dexter.

On Nov. 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Waymond Gerald Eskew in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Eskew preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Stearns of Dexter and Katherine Jones of Biggers, Ark.; two brothers, Gordon Waggoner of Bloomfield and Eldon Waggoner of Dexter; four sisters, Dorthy McClard, Arlene Eubanks, and Reva Raymo, all of Dexter, and Marjorie Waggoner of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter at birth, Gwendolyn Eskew; and two brothers, Hiland Waggoner and Merlin Waggoner.

Visitation was held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in the Sycamore Cemetery with Herman Morse officiating.

Interment followed at Sycamore Cemetery near Dexter.
