Leon Larsen

Leon Larsen, son of the late Leman M. Larsen and Earle Almond Larsen, was born on Aug. 31, 1929, at Aid and died at his residence near Dexter on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at the age of 78.

Mr. Larsen was a tool foreman for Carter Carburetor at St. Louis from 1951 till 1984 and was a resident of rural Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Betty Ruth Lawson on Oct. 13, 1949, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Larsen survives of the home near Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Stephen Larsen and wife Myra Kay of Bloomfield; one grandson, Jeff Larsen and wife Tina of Bloomfield; two great-grandchildren, Shyann Larsen and Hunter Larsen; and one sister, Shirley Spinks McMahan of McAlester, Okla.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Larsen; and three sisters, Juanita VanHoosier, Kathryn Edwards and Theresa Edwards.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating.

Interment will follow in the Harper Cemetery at Aid.
