Mozell Shaw, the daughter of the late William and Annie Ruff McKeller, was born in New Madrid County on March 29, 1930, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at the age of 77.
Mrs. Shaw had lived most of her life in the Parma and Essex communities and had lived in Malden since 1988. She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Malden.
On Sept. 1, 1948, she was married to James Shaw in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2004.
Surviving are three sons, Bennie J. Shaw of Elkhart, Ind., Elmer J. Shaw and Oscar L. Shaw, both of Malden; five daughters, Bernice Dennis Taylor of Essex, Elsie Hester of St. Louis, Fanny Farr, Alfreda Peel and Dorothy Shaw, all of Malden; 30 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Harriet Hill of Essex and Mary Johnson of Poplar Bluff.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lee A. Shaw on Sept.. 13, 2003; and two children in infancy; one great-grandson; three sisters, Ethel McKeller, Essie McKeller, and Arlena Holloway; three brothers, Henry, William and Martin McKeller;
Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Cleveland Brown of Malden officiating.
Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
