Lillian Opel Marie Bratcher

Lillian Opel Marie Bratcher, the daughter of the late Franklin Taylor and Mary Elizabeth Evans Barton, was born in Cadet on June 8, 1934, and died at the Fountainbleau Nursing Home in Crystal City on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Bratcher had lived most of her life in the Parma and Catron areas. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Eastern Star.

On Oct. 2, 1962, she was married to Joe David Bratcher in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2004.

Surviving are one step-son, David Bratcher of Dexter; 10 daughters and two step-daughters, Karen Keown of Madisonville, Ky., Rose Berend of Arnold, Kathy Goad of Illinois, Anita Watkins of Festus, Mary Hunt of New Madrid, Milllie Ghattas of Imperial, Estella Bates of Tampa, Fla., Barbara Lynn of Valley Park, Melinda Wheeler of Dittmer, Bertha Sherritze of Parma, step-daughter Kathy Clark of Malden and step-daughter Sharon Dellinger of Lincoln, Ill.; six brothers, Chad Barton of St. Louis, Donald Barton of Virginia, J.R. Barton of St. Louis, Johnny Barton of Peru, Ind., Buddy Barton of South Carolina, and Wayne Barton of St. Louis; one sister, Melinda McMillian of St. Peters; 44 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Hubbard and one step-daughter, Carol Ann Earnhart; and one sister, Maxine Sims.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with Bro. Mark Powell of Risco officiating.

Interment will be in the Parma Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
