Marion Lucille Swader

Marion Lucille Swader, daughter of the late Marion Pressley Bebout and Autie Ross Ward Bebout, was born on July 21, 1913, at Caruthersville and died in the Golden Living Center at Malden on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the age of 94.

Mrs. Swader was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie, a former secretary for the Bernie Public School System retiring in 1978, and a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to William H. Swader on Sept. 16, 1933, at Caruthersville. Mr. Swader preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1982.

Survivors include two sons, James Richard Swader of Crystal City and Jere Ward Swader of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, William Henry Swader, Jr.; one brother, Reu Bebout; and two sisters, Hildegarde Blackshear and Neeley Wilks.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Bill Garrett officiating.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
