Mrs. Jean had lived in Higginsville before moving to Dexter in 1932. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, was active in the United Methodist Women, and had taught school in Dexter for many years. She had been active in PEO, Civic Club, Rotary Ann, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
On June 12, 1932, she was married to Hal Jean in Higginsville. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1995.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Pam Jean of Dexter; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mike Alexander of Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandchildren, Dana Chamberlain and Ryan Angle both of Jonesboro, Ark.; four great grandchildren, Nick & Derik Chamberlain and Jessica and Jacob Angle. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and James Allen Schooling.
Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Louie Lowe of Dexter officiating.
Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
