Rev. Willard VanBibber son of the late Sherman VanBibber and Nora Parker VanBibber, was born on Feb. 27, 1914, in the state of Arkansas and died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 93.
Rev. VanBibber was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter. He was a former employee of Elders Manufacturing, a retired Baptist minister, and a resident of Dexter. As a motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoyed his affiliation with the local chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association.
On July 14, 1934, he was united in marriage to Vesta Shell in Dexter. Mrs. VanBibber survives of the home in Dexter.
Other survivors include one son, Charles VanBibber of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Nancy VanBibber of Dexter and Janet Kinroth and husband David of Florissant; one sister, Violet Williams of Chaffee; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; also four generations of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jewel VanBibber and James O. VanBibber; three sisters, Evie Jones, Mabel Looney, and Cleola Ridge.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
