Rob had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served as a recovery diver, had worked on tug boats in New York Harbor, for Budget Mobile Homes, and for Harty Construction in Dexter.
Surviving are his loving partner in life, Sherry Burnett of Dexter; his father and step-mother, Marsh and Dixie Watkins of Dexter; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Angela Watkins of Dexter; step-daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Brian Rogers of Dexter; step-son, David Burnett of Dexter; four grandchildren, Kenton David Sanders, Sydney Lea Rogers, David Lee Burnett, II, and Seth Daniel Rogers; and nephews, Cory, Trevor, Alex, and Nathan Watkins; step-brothers, Joey and Brian Dodd; and step-sister, Kim Morgan. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill and John Kevin Watkins and his twin, Richard T. Watkins.
Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Mike Bien of Dexter officiating.
Interment followed in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors conducted by the Navy and American Legion Post 59 of Dexter.
Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri was in charge of arrangements.
