Wanda B. Jarrell

Wanda B. Jarrell, the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie Thompson Layton, was born in Cline's Island near Bloomfield on June 2, 1937, and died at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield on Jan. 28, 2008, at the age of 70.

Mrs. Jarrell had lived in the Bloomfield area all of her life.

On June 16, 1954, she was married to L. D. Jarrell in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Fe.b 1, 1965.

Surviving are three daughters, Debbie Pullum of Dexter, Linda Griffin of Bloomfield, Ellen Clifton of Malden; three sons, James Jarrell, Larry Jarrell, all of Bloomfield, Clifton Jarrell of Dexter; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Bob, Ira, James, Raymond, Rudolph and Elvis Layton; and four sisters, Cozette Lawrence, Mary DeJournett, Ollie Tidwell and Stella Shielba.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Dell Hartlein of Indiana officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
