Raymond Curtis O'Neal

Raymond Curtis O'Neal, the son of the late James and Jennie Hibbard O'Neal, was born in Pocahontas, Ark., on Feb. 24, 1915, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Feb. 4, 2008, at the age of 92.

Mr. O'Neal had lived in Bloomfield most of his life. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

On Dec. 31, 1947, he was married to Anna Lois O'Neal in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2007.

Surviving are one son, Doug O'Neal of Bloomfield; two grandchildren of Bloomfield; one brother, Glen O'Neal of Jackson, Tenn.; and four sisters, Juanita Rankin of Grayridge, Opal Smith of Jackson, Tenn., Faye Wheeler and Mayme McConnaghay, both of Flint, Mich.

He was preceded in death by twin siblings in infancy; two sisters, Grace Adams and Lavelle Young; and seven brothers, Joe, John, Earl, Herbert, Fred, Omar, and Lehman O'Neal.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, after 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Jeffery Corlew of Essex officiating.

Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
