Another hat tossed into the Public Administrator race

Sunday, February 17, 2008

Another Stoddard County resident has made it known that she shall seek the position of Stoddard County Public Administrator.

Tonya Baker-Wethington of Dexter has announced that she plans to file as a candidate for the position on the February 26 filing date. She plans to run on the democratic ballot.

Baker-Wethington has lived in the area her entire life. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1987. Over time, she has earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in accounting and human resource management. She is currently a licensed real estate agent and works as a substitute teacher in the local schools. Baker-Wethington has more than 13 years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation along with over 10 years of management experience.

Baker-Wethington, along with her husband, Tom, own and operate Wethington Tire and Taxes-n-more in Bloomfield. She has three children; Scottie, who is a junior at Missouri State University, Courtney, who is a junior at Dexter High School and Brooke, a seventh-grader at T.S. Hill Middle School.

"I believe my experience and education background would be beneficial to the responsibilities of being the Public Administrator," said Baker-Wethington. "The job details are managing personal and financial affairs for others."

She encourages anyone with questions to call her at 568-3833.
