Harriet Hill, daughter of the late William and Annie Ruff McKeller, was born in Tupelo, Miss., on Sept. 17, 1916, and died at the Sikeston Health Care on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at the age of 91.

Mrs. Hill had lived in Southeast Missouri since 1923. She was a faithful and longtime member of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church near Essex.

She was married to William Hill on May 31, 1936, near Parma, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1995.

Surviving are five sons, Ernest Hill of Marion, Ind., Charles Edward Hill of New Madrid, Ben Hill of Chicago, Ill., Donnie Wayne Hill of Sikeston, and Chester Earl Hill of Essex; five daughters, Betty Gay of Bernie, Willie Lee Baily of Malden, Mabel Jacob and Annie Thompson, both of Essex, and Mildred Hill of Sikeston; 76 grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Johnson of Poplar Bluff.

She was preceded in death by five sons, William, John, Marvin, Kevin, and James; one daughter, Marydell Burks; three brothers, William, Martin and Henry McKeller; and five sisters, Essie and Ethel McKeller, Mozell Shaw, Elsie Cole and Ilene Halloway.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. James Turf of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Essex officiating.

Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
