Sarah Betty Perryman Cox, daughter of the late Isaac Peter Perryman and Barbara Jane Trippt Perryman, was born on Dec. 23, 1918, at Greene County, Ark., and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Cox was a member of New Bethel General Baptist Church, a homemaker, a resident of Bloomfield, loved working with little children, playing the guitar and driving her car.

She was united in marriage to William Riley Cox on July 6, 1934, at Corning, Ark. Mr. Cox preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1993.

She is survived by one son, Howard Cox of Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Verna Romine (LeRoy) of Mesquite, Texas, and Geraldine Cox of Blakely, Ga.; companion, Marvis Vondrachek; one sister, Dorothy L. Spears (Grady) of Dexter; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Fran Martin (John) of Dexter.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Cox on Dec. 23, 1999; and by several siblings.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
