Lendell Hunt, age 91, formerly of Bell City and Sikeston, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.
Mr. Hunt was born on Jan. 16, 1917, in Bertrand to the late William and Nancy Jane Wood Hunt. He was a self-employed farmer until his retirement, and a member of Garden Ridge General Baptist Church near Bell City, where he previously served as Sunday School Superintendent. He also later attended First Baptist Church of Sikeston.
He married Mary Alma Slayden on April 4,1936, in Benton, Mo., and she preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 1983.
Survlvors include three sons, Calvin Belich of Mayfield, Ky., Carl Hunt of Bell City, Harold Hunt of Jonesboro, Ark.; two daughters, Linda Wages of Bertrand and Loretta Ellis of Charleston; one sister, Ola Mar Miller of Bertrand; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation wlll be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Sunday, Feb. 24, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held in the Nunnelee Chapel at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, with the Rev. Charles Kohlbaker officiating, assisted by the Rev. Larry Kirby, pastor of Abundant Grace Church in Bertrand.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
