Launa Mae Hill

Launa Mae Hill, beloved daughter of the late Jessie and Edna Pearl Harper Aslin, was born at Bloomfield on Jan. 10, 1920, and died at the home of her daughter in St. Louis on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at the age of 88.

Launa was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield for 50 glorious years. She also lived in Pensacola, Fla., and was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, but at the time of her death she was living with her daughter and son-in-law in Florissant and was a member of the Florissant Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Hill was a 50 year member of the Bloomfield Order of the Eastern Star. Launa and her husband were avid golfers of the Bloomfield Country Club. She will be remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Launa was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Dail Kent Hill; her beloved son, Joseph Dail Hill; a brother, Lawrence Edison Aslin; and sister in law, Harryette Elizabeth Aslin (Vernon)

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Stokes (Hill); dear son-in-law , James Stokes of Florissant; dear grandchildren, Greg (Angie) Morgan, Doug Morgan, Joe (Theresa), Morgan, Devon (Terri) Hill and Becky Hill; adoring great-grandchildren, James, Ashley, D.J., Ronnie, Isabel, Madison and Riley. She was also survived by her nephews, cousins, and dear friends who lovingly referred to her as 'Aunt Unie'.

Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ronn Brooks officiating.

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
