Matthew Moore, the son of the late Matthew, Sr. and Antonio Reynolds Moore, was born in Newport, Ark., on June 2, 1939, and died at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at the age of 68.

Mr. Moore had lived in Southeast Missouri all his life and had lived in Sikeston the past few years. He was of the Baptist faith.

On Sept. 7, 1957, Mr. Moore was married to Dorothy Nelson.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Herrion of Sikeston and Brenda Hawkins of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Larry Moore of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Lyles and Floyd Austell, both of St. Louis; and one sister, Ruth Ann Glover of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Austell, Ford Austell; and one sister, Lillian Brown.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Gene Perkins of Zion Grove Baptist Church in Malden officiating.

Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
