Mary Lois Morris, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wyman Payne, was born in Stoddard County on May 21, 1937, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the age of 70.

Mrs. Morris grew up in St. Louis and moved to Dexter 14 years ago. She worked for U.S. Poly as an inspector. She was a member of the Dexter Eagles Lodge. She was of the Baptist faith.

In 1952, she was married to Donald Morris in St. Louis. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are her daughter, Joanie Clark of Dexter; two sons, Mike and Don Morris, both of Dexter; two sisters, Polly Tominski of St. Louis, Mabel Neal of Poplar Bluff; and one brother, Donald Payne of Farmington.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Morris; one brother, Bill Payne; and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Pastor Scott Sutton of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Bellfountain with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
