Virginia Dees Blades

Virginia Dees Blades, daughter of the late Ross and Sally Miller Dees was born on December 30, 1913 at Bernie and died in Springfield on March 4, 2008 at the age of 94.

Virginia was a life-long resident of Bernie, and was a postmistress during WWII.

She was united in marriage to John L. Blades. Mr. Blades preceded her in death in April of 2001.

Survivors include three granddaughters,Sally Weir, Anne Blades and Molly Robb; and by two great-granddaughters Madeline and Emily Robb.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Ross Earl Dees Blades.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 10-10:30 a.m.

A private graveside service will be conducted later.
