Bennett Melvin Robinson

Bennett Melvin Robinson, son of the late Franklin Thomas Robinson and Cornie Bell Moore was born on April 8, 1920 near Bethel Springs, Tenn. and died March 5, 2008 at the North Park Village Assisted Living Center in Ozark, at the age of 87.

Mr. Robinson was a former receiving clerk with Brown Shoe Company in Bernie, a member of the Vinson General Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1963, and a former resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Ann Lanell Cox on December 23, 1944 in Corinth, Miss. Mrs. Robinson preceded him in death in November of 1994.

Survivors include one son, Stan Bennett Robinson of Ozark; one sister, Ladell Clark of Bethel Springs, Tenn; also by three granddaughters, Elizabeth Robinson, Katherine Robinson, and Caroline Robinson all of Ozark.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Robinson and Vernie Robinson.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from

1 - 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
