Johnny Horn, son of the late Jesse Horn and Alie Eagan Horn, was born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Stanberry, Ark., and died on Sunday, March 9, 2008, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 71.
Mr. Horn was a farmer for many years and a resident of Bloomfield.
On Feb. 7, 1963, he was united in marriage to Iva Dowdy in Essex. Mrs. Horn survives of the home in Bloomfield.
Besides his wife, other survivors include three sons, Anthony Cunningham of Dexter, Billy Horn of La Vergne, Tenn., and Johnny Horn of Dexter; four daughters, Shelia Reeves of Golden Valley, Ariz., Pam Sanders of Dexter, Vickie Sanders of Essex, and Jennifer Teague of Bloomfield; three brothers, Terry Horn of Jacksonville, Fla., Bob Horn and Jesse Horn,both of Dexter; four sisters, Verneal Durbin of Bloomfield, Nadine Teeters of Circle City, Nina Williamson of Puxico, and Shirley Smith of Boise, Idaho; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Horn; and two sisters, Wilda Menley and Lana Spencer.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Gary Gilbert officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
