Two remain in custody facing assault charges

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

A Bloomfield woman and a Dexter man remain in Stoddard County Jail today, facing Class C felony charges of assault in the second degree and charges of Class A felony of armed criminal action.

Twenty-nine year old Terri M. Hentkowski, along with 38-year-old Kevin Wayne Mitchell are charged, with Mitchell being charged as an accessory.

According to local police, the two were involved in an incident that took place last Wednesday evening, March 12, during which Hentkowski allegedly inflicted 19 bite marks on an unidentified female victim, with several of the wounds deemed to be serious in nature.

The victim was reportedly accosted at her Dexter residence on the east end of the city and attacked by Hentkowski following an earlier confrontation during a phone call. According to the warrant request in the case, Mitchell is witnessed to have been brandishing what appeared to be a crowbar as he stood guard over the alleged assault by Hentkowski.

The female victim was taken by acquaintances to a Sikeston medical facility following the attack, treated for 19 separate bite wounds to the upper torso, face and arms, and released.

Hentkowski and Mitchell are each being held in the county jail under $25,000 cash only bonds.

Arraignments are scheduled for both this Thursday at Stoddard County Justice Center, Division II.

A woman bit another woman 19 times while some guy stood there w/ a crowbar? A banjo seems much more appropriate. Very wrong, very wierd...and very redneck.

Where's McGruff the crime dog at? Probably got cut from the budget. We need a campaign to get him back. Somebody get that going so are kids will be safe again...what was his catch phrase...anyone remember?

Sounds like dogfighting is running rampant in the area.
