Bobby Wayne Ward, son of the late Carey and Ira Worrell Ward was born at Hughes, Ark. on Aug. 16, 1933, and died at Grenada, Miss., on March 15, 2008, at the age of 74.
Mr. Ward was a resident of Arnold but also kept a home in rural Bloomfield. He retired from General Motors Company in St. Louis after 30 years of employment. Mr. Ward was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea, a member of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge # 153 A.F .& A. M. and a Member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of St. Louis. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, gardening and singing and playing country music.
On Dec. 11, 1955, he was married to Marilyn Thorn, and she survives of the home in Arnold. Other survivors include one son Steven Carey Ward of Barnhart; one daughter, Lesa M. Rankin of House Springs; two brothers, Roy Ward of Bloomfield and Fred Ward of Dexter; four sisters, Kitty Welch and Kathryn Williams both of Dexter, Katie Scism of St. Louis, and Joy Oliver of Farmington; four grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Finis, Hunter, Mack and Jack Ward.
Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 21, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Susan Hoyle officiating.
Internment will follow in the West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield.
