Julia Minton

Julia Ann Minton, daughter of Gladys Leverich Steimel of Dexter and the late Lowell Leverich was born on July 20, 1944 at Valporaiso, Ind., and died in her residence near Dexter on March 18, 2008 at the age of 63.

Mrs. Minton was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Dexter, the department head of the Physical Therapy Department at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to John Minton on June 5, 1966 at Catlin, Ill., and to this union two daughters were born. Dr. Minton survives of the home near Dexter.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tina Bess and husband Dain of Dexter and Traci Minton of Gilford, N.H.; by two granddaughters, Cassidy Paige Bess and Sydney Ann Bess; by her mother, Gladys Steimel of Dexter; by four sisters, Glee Cumbow and Carol Smock both of Danville, Ill, Glenda Defrain and Jean Davidson both of Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2008.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Hoyt and Dr. Kevin Chenoweth officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
