Candidate Allen speaks to Democrat women

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Candidate for 8th District U.S. Congressman was in Puxico for the Stoddard County Democrat Women's Annual St. Patrick's Day Pot Luck held at the V.F.W. building.

Being an election year, turnout was clearly high this year both with politicians and supporters alike.

A native of Mansfield, Mo., Allen says he is out to serve hard working Americans and children, whom he feels needs the support the most.

"I decided that this race, at this time, in the place where I grew up, is what had to be done," Allen told the crowd. "I run because now it is clear that we can only change our disastrous policies by changing our leadership."

Allen is running against Republican Jo Ann Emerson this November.

"I have such strong feelings about what can be done," he said. "Now we can be the vehicle for change and hope."

Joe worked his way through college at the College of the Ozarks where he earned dual degrees in physical education and secondary education. He later earned his Juris Doctorate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Joe now lives in the rural town of Forsyth, Missouri where he practices law at the Merrell Law Firm and serves as the Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Rockaway Beach. Much of Joe's practice is focused on criminal defense and child advocacy.

"My name is Joe Allen and I want to be your next Congressman," he said before a standing ovation.

Missouri State Rep. Steve Hodges and candidate for 159th Dist. State Rep. Bill Burlison both encouraged everyone to support Allen.

"Let's get rid of that mindset that Jo Ann Emerson can't be beat," Burlison said.

Candidate Burlison also expressed his views on the current war in Iraq.

"The whole war is founded on the lies of the Bush Administration," he said. "Not only did they tell us lies, they knew they were lies when they told them."

Burlison also voiced anger with the Bush Administration over gasoline prices crediting them to "Bushs' Iraq war and his involvement in the oil business."

Blah, blah, blah...the Democrats sing the same old "Woe is me"..."George Bush caused all problems" tune. WHEN are they going to offer solutions rather than crying and blaming? EVERY candidate for office ALWAYS makes the same promises and then, regardless of who is elected, fails to deliver on most. Nothing really changes, only the names and faces.

Vote for Democrats and you vote for: Partial birth abortion (research this abominable procedure out on the internet), no parental notification when a 16 year old wants an abortion, no flag protection, PRO-teachers' union runaway liberalism, no prayer in schools...but feel free to "christian bash" all you want.

Bottom line...look at how little this Democrat congress has achieved. It spends ALL it's time slamming Bush and not taking care of the countries business. Pelosi is a JOKE. Reid is a JOKE. They can get NOTHING done except crying about the administration.

The real shame is that we, the citizens, can't throw ALL of them out at once...democrats and republicans..because THEY are NOT taking care of this country. THEY are selling it to foreign investors and powers. I hate to think what America will be like in 50 years...SCARY.

Think about it....and don't be fooled by ANY politician. They don't run anything anyway....their STAFFERS do.

"Let's [pretend Emerson can] be beat," Burlison said.

Burlison's just angry that Bill Emerson was his first opposed race - and Emerson put him out of a job.

72 on the money.....

Jo Ann Emerson is a joke. She is not 1/4 of the person her husband was and Union Lawyer husband has much to do with many of her votes. That being said, Burleson and Hodges can cheerlead all they want, Allen doesn't stand a snowballs chance in Iraq of beating her.

Can anyone REALLY believe Crap like Bush LIED so that we COULD GO to war? Same people who think he sabotaged the Trade Center towers (ala Fat Rosey ODonnell)?

Our Government is a complete Joke, full of bigheads who can't handle a little power and have no idea how to solve problems.

Please raise my taxes so you will have more $ to spend on your pork.....
