Sidney Allen Rainey

Sidney Allen Rainey, 71, of Bloomfield, formerly of Dexter, was born Dec. 20, 1936, at Holcomb, the son of Willie "Bill" and Opal Dye Rainey, and died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield.

Mr. Rainey was a retired owner of a trucking company and also a member of Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.

He and Shirley James were united in marriage on May 1, 1955, at Hernando, Miss., and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Jim Rainey of Advance, Steve Rainey of Wentzville, Earl Rainey of Bloomfield and Larry Rainey of Zalma; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Rev. Bob Bradford officiating.

Interment will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
