Ms. Cox was of the Baptist faith, a former captain and deputy sheriff in the Riverside County, Calif., Sheriff's Department, a member of the board of directors of the AIDS Task Force Group in Manitowac, Wis., a member of the Domestic Violence Association in Manitowac, Wis., The Wife and Child Abuse Center in Boise, Idaho, The Private Investigators Association, The National Police Chiefs Association and a resident of Bloomfield.
She is survived by her long-time companion, Marvis Vondrachek of Blakely, Ga.; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Danial Linsmire of Manitowac, Wis.; two foster sons, Justin Degonia of Sikeston and Todd Harrison Duncan of Palm Springs, Calif.; her foster granddaughter, Erin Margaret Duncan of Palm Springs, Calif.; two grandchildren, Brittany Linsmire and Courtney Linsmire, both of Manitowac, Wis.; her sister and brother-in-law, Verna and LeRoy Romine of Mesquite, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Cox.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with John Martin officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
