The Bernie Police Department has been awarded a $13,100 grant from the Counterdrug Technology Assessment Center Technology Transfer Program (CTAC), it was announced this week.
The CTAC has provided investigative technologies and training to over 10,000 law enforcement agencies for the past 10 years. Bernie's grant consists of two complete computer systems, five licensed copies and a server installed by In-Sync with their records management system. The grant was a 100% award, enabling for the transition with no cost to the city.
The new system is currently being incorporated into the department's daily loggings and training has been provided Bernie officers and dispatchers as the department works toward creating a more efficient manner of operation.
