Mr. Chamberlain had lived in Dexter most of his life. He had attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Sept. 27, 1963, he was married to Sherley Spitler in Sikeston.
Surviving are his wife, Sherley Chamberlain of Dexter; one son, John Daniel Chamberlain of Dexter; one daughter, Sharon Hansen of California; one sister, Geraldine Jarboe of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Aubrey Chamberlain.
Visitation was held after 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Lonnie Mittag of Dexter officiating.
Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
