Nancy Cooper

Nancy Ellen Cooper, daughter of the late Charley Fowler and Ollie Norman Fowler, was born on Nov. 5, 1914, at Couch and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the age of 93.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of the New Bethel General Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday School class for high school students. She had been employed with the Stoddard County A.R.C. for several years, a member of the Rebecca Lodge #188 of Dexter, the Howel Homemakers Club and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Wellman Cooper on Nov. 11, 1932, at Benton. Mr. Cooper preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1983.

Surviving are one grandson, Michael Wayne Cooper and wife Diann of Bloomsdale; one granddaughter, Debbie Murphy and husband Larry of Rogers, Ark.; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Cooper and Audrey Cooper, both of Bloomsdale, Caitlin Murphy, Samuel Murphy and Caroline Murphy, all of Rogers, Ark.; nephew, Gary Fowler of Warrenton and a special nephew, Randy Wade Richmond of Dexter.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Austin Wayne Cooper on July 17, 2003; and one sister, Lola Young.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dean Williams officiating.

Interment followed in the Balch Cemetery near Advance.
