Shirley Hopkins, 73, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Osceola, Ark., to Leabell Gross of Alexandria, Ind., and the late Grady Sanders. On Dec. 31, 1950, she married Carl David (Porky) Hopkins who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2007.
In addition to her mother, survivors include three daughters, LaVern Griffin, Brenda Chasteen, both of Sikeston, and Teresa Tanner of Morley; three brothers, Evert Gross of Marion, Ind., Al Gross of Round Top, Texas, and Kenny Gross of Frankton, Ind.; four sisters, Flora Rushin, Grace Savage, and Carla Schweitzer, all of Alexandria, and Diane Jones of Yorktown, Ind.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with Rev. Michael Coleman officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
