The win was a complete reverse of an earlier game where the Lady Mules defeated the Lady Cardinals, 10-3, to take third place in the recent SCAA Conference Tournament played at Advance.
"As well as we played against Woodland last week, we did the exact opposite today (Wednesday)," Bernie coach Jeff Rodgers said. "We didn't hit and our defense was poor.
"We looked like a freshman team," Rodgers continued. "We weren't ready to play until the last inning. We picked up our intensity some and looked like a different team, but it was too little, too late. We have to focus hard every inning if we want to beat anyone."
Woodland scored four in the first, added three in the second then pushed across seven in the third. Bernie mounted a late comeback with four in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to avoid the 10-run rule.
Rachel Palmer led the Lady Mules with two hits, while Leslie Kean took the loss on the mound.
Bernie now stands at 2-4 overall and 0-1 in SCAA play.
The Lady Mules will next be in action Friday at home against East Prairie.
