Lady Bearcats win Kennett track meet

KENNETT -- Dexter's Lady Bearcats brought home first place honors from the Kennett Invitational, aided by five first-place finishes.

The Dexter boys finished fifth in a 10-team filed. There were nine girls teams competing.

The Lady 'Cats were again strong in the relay events, winning the 4x800 (10:54) and 4x400 (4:21) while taking second in the 4x200 (1:56.3).

Senior Sammy Waldner and sophomore Brittney Waldner were both part of three first-place efforts. Both were members of the 4x800 relay team along with Lizzie Kohlbaker and Madison Baker, and the 4x400 team with Jessica Satterfield and Caroline Goessling.

The sisters also captured individual firsts as Samantha won the 300 hurdles (2:34) and Brittney topped the field in the 800 (2:34).

Cathryn Heil had Dexter's only other individual first with a jump of 5'0" in the high jump. Satterfield took second in the same event with the same height.

For the boys, senior Jason Kohlbaker won the mile with a time of 5:00.

The boys 4x800 relay team of Kevin Anderson, Logan Carwile, Kohlbaker and Alman.

Second place finishers for Dexter included Sarah Tolbert in the 100 hurdles (.); Lizzie Kohlbaker in the 3200 (13:21); and M. Pixley in the long jump (14'4").
