Esther Hibler, daughter of the late John William Bates and Sarah Elizabeth Mayberry Bates, was born on Aug. 8, 1917, in Poynor and died at the Golden Living Center in Dexter on Friday, April 23, 2008, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Hibler was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, a former waitress at Hickory Log Restaurant in Dexter for 23 years, and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Charles W. Hibler on May 4, 1940, in Sikeston. Mr. Hibler preceded her in death on April 9, 1972.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Charles William Hibler of Olathe, Kan.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Edward Hibler; two daughters, Elizabeth Sue Fitch and Baby Hibler; six brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Louis Lowe officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Atchison, Kan.
