Mrs. Cobb had lived in Essex most of her life except for spending 1977-1997 in Doniphan. She was a member of the Hopewell General Baptist Church near Essex and had worked at Elder Manufacturing for many years. She and her husband had also owned Cox Grocery in Essex until she moved to Doniphan.
On Nov. 19, 1951, she was married to Charles Cecil Cobb. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Ackman and Janet Palmer, both of Essex; two sons, Charles Wayne Cobb of Doniphan and Robert "R.C." Cobb of Wappapello; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Faye Cutler and Yvonne Hunt, both of Arnold, Wanda Underwood of Centralia, Wash., and Jean Cobb of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Charles C. Cobb, Jr., and two in infancy, Danny Ray and James Roy; and two brothers, Everett and John Horton.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Martin Goode of Malden officiating.
Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
