Aaron Rogers, son of James Rogers and Shirley Mills Scherer, was born at Poplar Bluff on May 3, 1971, and died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the age of 36 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

Mr. Rogers was a 1989 graduate of Bloomfield High School. He was an All State Basketball player and holds the high scoring record for a single game at the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament. Aaron was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt in the Persian Gulf. He was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia. On August 1, 1993, he was married to Robin Phelan.

Survivors include his wife Robin Phelan Rogers of the home in Dexter; two daughters, Mackinlee Nicole Rogers and Blair Ashton Rogers of the home in Dexter; his father, James Rogers of Bloomfield; his mother, Shirley Scherer of Dexter; three brothers, Jeff Rogers of Poplar Bluff, Brian Rogers of Dexter, and Kyle Rogers of Bloomfield; his maternal grandmother, Pansy Worley of Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Dorthia Rogers; and his maternal grandfather, Hermon Mills.

Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Dan Sitze officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of all arrangements.

An Aaron Rogers Memorial Scholarship Fund for a Bloomfield student has been set up at the Bank of Advance
