According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, James Aaron Rogers apparently failed to negotiate a curve as he was northbound on AD Highway. His vehicle, a 2004 Ford pickup truck, left the roadway and overturned and Rogers was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to the patrol. Stoddard County Coroner Morgan Sifford pronounced Rogers dead at the scene of the accident.
Aaron Rogers leaves a wife, Robin-Phelan Rogers and two young daughters. A complete obituary appears on page five of today's Daily Statesman.

What a shame - condolences to the family.
Aaron was a great father and friend. He enjoyed coaching his daughter's games. He will truly be missed.
Went to school with Aaron from k - 12th grade. He was also my daughter's ball coach when we lived at Dexter. I just wanted to send my condolences to the family and let them know that we are praying for them during this truly difficult time. - Traci (Lang) Childers
My thoughts and prayers are with this family. What a terrible loss for them.
Please do not misrepresent the comment I'm about to make. The loss is a tragic one and I share my condolences with his family. I had met him a couple of times, and knew many of his relatives.
I spent my childhood on a small farm just off AD highway. I know the road very well. It can be treacherous, with sharp turns and hills. I have seen people run their vehicles as fast as they could on that highway. I have nearly been hit by people who could not control their cars coming off the sharp turn off the last hill, coming up on Stanfield's Gas Station. By the description of the accident and by my firsthand knowledge of the area, I'm almost certain Mr. Rogers was being careless with his vehicle and it cost him his life.
Please do not let his passing be in vain. Drivers, stop being so stupid behind the wheel. Parents, make sure your teenagers know how to properly and RESPONSIBLY operate a vehicle. And always make sure to wear a seatbelt.
It is a sad event, but sometimes the most important lessons come from a time of grief.
