Lady Bearcats claim SEMO Central conference title

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Dexter's girls track team took top honors at the SEMO Central Conference track meet Monday at Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau.

Dexter finished ahead of second place Kennet by 52 points to easily take the title. Dexter finished at 156, while Notre Dame was third (100), New Madrid County Central fourth (56), and Charleston and Caruthersville tied for fifth with 44 points.

The Dexter boys came in fourth, behind first place Notre Dame (196), second place Kennett (139), third place New Madrid County Central (105). Charleston was fifth with 47 points and Caruthersville took sixth with eight points.

The Lady Bearcats, Elise Hester took first in the discus (90'1"), Jessica Satterfield was first in the high jump (4'10"), Brittney Waldner was first in the 800 meter (2:35), Sammy Waldner was tops in the 300 meter hurdles (49.28) and the 4x800 and 4x400 relays teams finished ahead of the field.

Members of rthe 4x800 relay team included Sammy Waldner, Brittney Waldner, Lizzie Kohlbaker and Madison Baker. The 4x400 team included Caroline Goessling, Satterfield,d S. Waldner and B. Waldner.
